How can I get attention without playing sports?

Here’s the thing: I just got into high school, and the big problem is simply that people don’t know me. I’d like to get my name out there and make new friends. Obviously, talking to people will help, but so will being well-known. Here is what I mean: at max, there are 150-200 people in my classes. There are 600 freshman and 2400 people at my school. So it would be nice to be able to get attention outside class. The obvious way to do that would be to play sports- but problem is, I don’t play any sports. I suck at them. And the average kid at the school doesn’t know or care about who won the debate tournament or which robotics team made it to nationals, for example. So what clubs should I join that would give me exposure and positive attention that isn’t a sport?

  1. While I was in high school I was in band until I quit before my senior year, which ended up being the best year of my life, but the most attention I got from people (especially girls) was my sense of humor. I’m a loud guy and I was generally a funny person, and that is what helped me make friends. I wouldn’t try too hard, just be a nice person and share memes with my classmates. Go to sporting events and talk to people. If you’re not creepy or annoying it’s not terribly hard to get people to like you.

  3. First of all, you need not be funny to get attention.

Develop a talent or ability. Your talents may include sports like basketball, football, cricket(named these because they are the most famous)etc, debates- wherein you learn to make great points. People like to listen to(or give ATTENTION to) people who make precise points and thus they will break their speech to listen to you.
Develop speaking skill. Even if you are talented, You won’t really get much attention if you can’t speak well to a big crowd or group.
Develop a good personality. Even if you’re not that good looking, your personality will attract people towards you. Personality is the alternative to looks.

  4. Perform outmost in all-round activities and drive social behaviour in your school with a positive hope and spreading happiness. Give positive attention to as many people as possible in your school every day with the utmost respect. What you give will return backs to you.

  5. Being extrovert is good. You have been focused in your own thoughts. But still if you you need to get attention at school, being an extrovert wouldn’t work. You should bring out your inner thoughts. Be confident. Don’t push yourself to the extreme of thinking about too much things. Be free to talk. Participate actively in many activities like debates, competitions etc….. And never think negatively. Being silent is good but not always silence is the solution. And you need not try to be like anyone to grab attention. Just be yourself with full of boosting positive attitude.
